FINALLY... TiTo’s Movie Reviews - Part 1 (of 4)
By TiTo | March 3, 2009
Alas, it has been some time since my last movie review. Tough titties man! I got stuff to do to! Like watching all these movies for starters! Then I gotta think about ‘em for a while. Like five months a while it would appear. That in and of itself should tell you that this is going to be a totally kick ass movie review… of movies you should most definitely go see, rent, netflix… or pirate if you must. Just see them damn it!
Ho-kay. Here we go. The descent into the madness known as
“Inside TiTo’s Head”
No turning back now… you’re in for the long haul.
For our viewing pleasure on the night of November the 6th, 2008, we watched a little known flick I chanced upon while surfing the internets that turned out to be a hidden gem. Pathology has the oomph to have been a big hit, though it has to be that someone, somewhere, who had just a little more say than someone else, was able to keep this one way on the back shelf. As the name implies this is a movie filled with gore and gruesomeness… it IS a horror flick. But it’s a SMART horror flick, in that it stays true to its premise.

Pleasantly surprising this one was. Stevo LOVED it… so that should tell you something. Check it out.
ALICE brought us an obscure little ditty from 1964 for the November 13th, 2008 edition of Movie Night. A movie called “Two Thousand Maniacs!”. This is not a very well produced movie. The lighting is bad, the sound is horrible, the plot line is repetitious, the special effects are ridiculous and those are the good points. Don’t even get me started on how awful the acting is! In fact, because of this movie I officially HATE the year 1964 and everything that came out of it. All that said, this is one of the coolest damn movies I have ever seen! Herschell Gordon Lewis, the man who wrote and directed this demented morsel, started a new genre with his movies, lending to his nickname as 'the godfather of gore'. And it is because of this man and his D grade movies from the 60’s that we enjoy good quality B grade movies today, like the 11th remake of “Friday The 13th.”
Yeeee-Haaaaw!!! The south shall rise again! Go see this one! Then we can HATE 1964 together!
November 20th and November 27th, 2008 Movie Night was converted into Battlestar Galactica Marathons. Late last summer I got Stevo and ALICE to start watching the BSG episodes. Skeptics at first, they quickly realized the awesomeness of Edward James Olmos and his rag tag fleet. By the last two weeks of November we were still many several episodes away from being caught up for the final episodes that were beginning in January. I believe we were on the tail end of season two at the time… here is the season two trailer.
This is when we found out the Ogre is a rampant BSG fan as well. He never told us because he thought we would laugh at him for being a nerd. Don’t worry Ogre… that’s not why we laugh at you.

And this concludes part one of the movie reviews… Part two… when I feel like it.
