Fairbanks police find human remains inside vacant apartment

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) – Fairbanks police searching for a missing person found human remains inside a vacant apartment.
Police say they received a report of missing man last week. On Sunday night, they searched for the person in an apartment complex in an east-Fairbanks neighborhood.
They received permission to search a vacant apartment and found the body. The human remains could not immediately be identified.
The remains were to be sent to the state medical examiner in Anchorage for identification.
