As you should know by now James Hetfield headed back to rehab at the end of September which caused Metallica to have to cancel some tour dates. We are all glad to see James getting the help that he needs.

In a new interview, Lars Ulrich offered an update on the health of James Hetfield.

“He’s doing what he needs to,” Lars told USA Today. “He’s in the process of healing himself.”

“I feel bad for everybody down in Australia and New Zealand, but we’re excited to get back to full force and come back stronger and healthier than ever. Along the way, there’s obviously an occasional bump in the road. But it’s been an incredible ride, and we’re looking forward to getting back down there, hopefully next year.”

“I think the biggest surprise is just how positive the feedback has been from our fans and friends and peers alike, It’s very heartwarming, and it’s just blown our minds how much love and appreciation and support we’ve gotten in the last week since we had to postpone this. It’s an incredible thing.”

Then a few days ago the official Metallica Twitter posted a video and phone number you can text them at.

Pretty cool if you ask me. And since you are reading this that’s pretty much asking me.

Last month Metallica celebrated the 20th anniversary of their S&M album with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra with a pair of concerts. The shows were filmed and will be coming to theaters across the country.
