Pearl Jam Announces New Album ‘Gigaton’ and North American Tour

Have you heard? A new Pearl Jam album is on the way.

The band has announced Gigaton will arrive on March 27th. And there’s more: a North American tour is in the works as well.

The title of the new album first appeared as part of a scavenger hunt that sent fans to billboards in eleven cities around the world.

“Making this record was a long journey,” guitarist Mike McCready said in a statement. “It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption. Collaborating with my bandmates on Gigaton ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times.”

Fun fact, a gigaton is the measurement for the melting of polar ice caps.

The North American tour kicks off March 18th in Toronto and runs through April 19th in Oakland. The band will then head to Europe for previously announced concerts.
