Nikki Sixx Slams Steel Panther By Calling Them a ‘Wanna Be Band’ and ‘A**holes’
In a recent interview Steel Panther’s Michael Starr and Stix Zadinia were asked what musician from the past would they like to bring back to the present, to which Starr answered with Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe. Stix then said the singer is still alive, Starr clarifies that he would like to bring back the Vince Neil from the band’s hay days in the ’80s.

After one fan pointed out that Steel Panther sometimes performs Mötley Crüe songs with Vince Neil, Sixx responded by saying
That’s why they are assholes. Backstabbers.

This isn’t the first time the two bands have had issues with each other. Zadinia revealed in a 2017 interview that their 2011 tour with Mötley Crüe was the only time they felt unwelcome by another band. He believed that the members of Crüe thought that Steel Panther were making fun of them directly even though they were clear that none of their antics was ever a jab at them.
Starr revealed in a separate interview that drummer Tommy Lee hated how they would poke fun at Vince Neil, even though Starr says Neil is okay with it.
Personally I am going to have to side with Steel Panther on this one and just ask Nikki Sixx to lighten up just a little bit. It’s obvious that Steel Panther doesn’t take themselves to seriously so neither should they.
